Privacy policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

This policy explains how I handle personal information when you use this website or get in touch about counselling. I am Rosalind Fairclough, a person-centred counsellor offering online sessions to adults in the UK. My NCPS membership number is NCPS2792.

I am the data controller for information collected through this website and in my counselling practice. You can contact me at talktoroz@proton.me.

Using this website

This site does not have an enquiry form, an account, or analytics. It does not set its own cookies, and it does not use advertising trackers. If you only read the pages, I do not ask for your name or contact details.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect them from misuse, Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit. I do not use that information to identify you or to build a profile of you.

If you email me

You can email talktoroz@proton.me. The inbox is provided by Proton.

If you write to me, I receive what you choose to send. That may include your name, email address, phone number and something about what you would like to talk about. Information about your health or feelings is treated as special category data under UK data protection law.

I use that information to reply, to arrange a free introductory phone call if you would like one, and, if we agree to work together, to provide counselling. I do not sell your information and I do not use it for marketing.

Counselling records

If you become a client, I keep the counselling agreement and session notes so I can work with you safely and meet my professional, insurance and legal duties. I keep these records securely, and only for as long as those duties require. You can ask me how long a particular record will be kept.

Who else might see information

I do not share your information for advertising. I may share it only:

  • if the law requires me to
  • if there is a serious risk of harm and sharing is necessary to protect you or someone else

In professional supervision I talk about my work without using your full name, unless there is a clear reason to do otherwise.

Email is handled by Proton, and the website is hosted by Cloudflare. If you follow the link to the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, their own privacy notice applies on their website.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information I hold about you
  • correct information that is wrong
  • delete information, where I am allowed to
  • limit or stop some uses of your information

Some of these rights depend on why I hold the information, especially where I must keep a professional record. To use them, email talktoroz@proton.me.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Adults

This website and my counselling service are for adults.

Changes to this policy

If the way I handle information changes, I will update this page. The date at the top will show when it was last revised.
